Missions night . . .
Meet Angela, singer, songwriter, artist, wife, mother, woman who loves God and is itching to go to those who have not yet heard of the reality of Jesus. Last night we had a missions night here at the base where she shared several songs she had written. These were interspersed with video clips, pictures, and other media. All were combined to paint a compelling picture of the need for people to reach the unreached.
Last night, combined with the fact that I have been preparing to teach about foreign missions for the last month and a half, I wanted to go home and cry. If only I could be there now! But work of lasting quality demands thorough preparation, so here I am. One of the last songs especially caught me - I'll share it with you:
Searching, oh you searching souls looking for the more
Empty, oh you empty lives with so little to live for
Broken, oh you broken people with no means of a cure
Barren, oh you barren nations with no miracle maker that you know
I see your pain and it crushes me.
I see your ash covered soul
I see the stains how they haunt me
I won't take it anymore
I'm on my way . . .
I will never forget you and all that I've seen
No ignoring your future to gain more than I need
Your cause will be priority over my own
With endurance I will show you're not destined to be disowned
I'm on my way . . .
Sorry so many watch you
Sorry so many watch you
Sorry so many watch you
May my hands and my feet never just observe you
May my eyes and my soul take you in
May you always be branded on my heart
And may I never complain
Jesus, Savior - save
Jesus, Rescuer - rescue
