As you can see here, Ethan got a lot of sun on Saturday. He biked thirty miles around Salem with a friend and now has stripes - aka second degree burns with blisters - to show for it. Poor guy . . .
Ethan is actually pretty busy these days, as he juggles managing the kitchen with taking a teacher training school. Monday through Friday, school starts at 8:30 in the morning, and continues until 3 - with a 1 hour break midday for lunch. From 3 until 5:15, Ethan is in the kitchen, helping with dinner prep. Wow! Some evenings are busy, as well, with reading or other assignments. What a man! . . . And as you know, behind every amazing man is an amazing woman - that must be me! ; )
I am still leading worship here at the base on occasion, and am continuing to receive invitations to speak. This Saturday, I will be representing YWAM at a Women’s Conference in Silverton, a town outside Salem. Needless to say, I’m very excited about this opportunity!
Being a mom is a full time job, and when you try to add other things on top, it sometimes feels overwhelming! However, if anything needs to be set aside, it will not be the girls - so I am weighing the value of other activities I am currently involved with. Activities such as: starting a women's ministry for the ladies on the base, leading worship, teaching, wanting to be more involved in speaking about human trafficking (maybe?), etc. If you remember to, would you please pray for me about this area? Thank you . . .
Today Jasmine was standing in the kitchen, and for the second time since we got home from Alaska, began reciting everyone's names. At first I thought she said thirsty, but then realized she had said Gigi when she followed it with Grampa, Jack, Tanya, Kale (McHale), and Wonny (Ronny). I'm so impressed at her ability to remember, and wonder if she is imagining their faces as she says their names. I can only imagine . . .
Today Maya pulled herself up to stand at the couch. I know this is is a tremendous milestone, but it seems so early! She's only been crawling for a couple weeks now, and is already trying to stand up. She will probably walk early, as well.
Lord, help me to keep up with these girls! : )
