A day in the life of a Mommy with littles

We had a picnic at lunch because it was so beautiful and sunny today. PB&J with homemade pink lemonade. Yum Yum!

Later, I had to run into town to pick up my Azure order, and in the few moments it took me to load the van, Jasmine tattooed Rosalina's forehead with a sticker:

I took it off when we got home. She cried pretty hard,  but I distracted her by making silly sounds in the mirror. That seemed to distract her from the pain of having the baby hair ripped removed from her forehead.

I had a hard time being patient today. More than once I had to pull aside and ask God to help me have patience, to be kind and loving, to not yell. Children are so childish. Odd, I know, but... sometimes it's frustrating to ask the same thing over and over and over and over and .... you're still not done? Today, it was Please pick up your toys. When you make messes and don't help to clean them up, it makes me feel like Cinderella. Finally, I just went through the living room and their bedroom, stuffed everything into trash bags and tossed them in the entryway. Jasmine was pretty upset... but I told her she could earn them back. We'll see how that goes.

I made pizza for supper, but when I was making the sauce, I opened one of my spices and dumped half the bottle in less than a cup of sauce because there were no holes to sprinkle through. Jasmine didn't like the pizza. Maya didn't even try hers because Jasmine had deemed it unedible.

The girls had an early bath, but decided to wash the tub WITH HALF A BOTTLE OF SHAMPOO. My bad. I didn't realize I had left the bottle within reach.

Rosalina gave me a good laugh today, though when I caught her with her latest find:

Kinda looks like a stogie- kiddie style lol
That girl will try to eat anything she finds on the floor. Maya even caught her trying to eat a spider before. Seriously. This is why I spent 45 minutes on my hands and knees washing the kitchen and bathroom floors after the girls went to bed. Well, maybe not 45 minutes... it just felt like it. It was a great time to pray, though- especially since Ethan is gone again.

Ah, these are busy days...
